Foundernest — Finding the needle in the haystack for venture capital

The brief

At the earliest stage of venture investing there is little data and a lot of judgement. Foundernest asked how a product could find companies that match a VC’s preferences in public sources, and help scouts make a screening decision: take a meeting, add to a watchlist, or pass.

The approach

Desk research and conversations with people close to scouting surfaced the three things VCs weigh — people, product and market — and the barriers between founders and investors.

The value proposition: a fast, easy and intelligent way to help scouts spot promising startups, combining qualitative and quantitative data in context.
